SUCCESS: Toronto Star Retracts Claim that Israel has Settlements in Gaza

Yesterday evening, the Toronto Star featured the following article "Controversial United Church proposal on Israeli settlements to be debated at General Council" which erroneously claimed that Israel has settlements in the Gaza Strip. Contrary to what was reported, there are no Israeli settlements in the Gaza Strip as Israel disengaged from Gaza in 2005 removing over 8,500 settlers and its combined armed forces.

HonestReporting Canada informed the Star’s reporter of this error who then immediately amended the article ensuring that the revision made its way into today’s print edition. We are gratified that the Star took such swift action in remedying this error.
