On January 22, CBC News’ Sara Jabakhanji and Graeme Bruce published an article entitled ‘Here are the countries joining Trump’s ‘Board of Peace’ so far’, examining all the countries which have accepted or rejected U.S. President, Donald Trump’s invitation to be part of an international coalition to “secure enduring peace in all areas threatened by conflict.”
In September of 2025, as part of President Trump’s announced 20-point plan, which aimed at ending the war in Gaza, the “Board of Peace” is intended to lay the groundwork for lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians, one in which Hamas’ rule comes to an end, new security arrangements are implemented and reconstruction of the Gaza Strip can begin.
A graphic, which included a table and map of all the countries invited was published alongside the article. While the article itself did state Israel had accepted President Trump’s invitation to the Board, Israel was missing from the table and map.

HonestReporting Canada liaised with CBC News executives, pointing out this error and asking for an immediate correction. We are pleased to note that subsequent to our complaint, CBC News has updated their table and map, and added a correction:
- An earlier version of this story mistakenly omitted Israel from the graphic. It has, in fact, accepted an invitation to join the Board of Peace.

We thank CBC News for taking immediate action and rectifying this error.
