The fact that in the Middle East, Israeli Arabs are the freest in democratic Israel is often left off the pages of the mainstream media. This is because the freedom, liberty and human rights of those living inside Israel’s borders flies in the face of the narrative too often portrayed on the pages of news media, which holds the Jewish state in contempt.
Yet, a new study making the news in Israel but absent in the mainstream media abroad reveals that sixty-four percent of Israeli Arabs in 2013 think that Israel is a good place to live.
A major shift was also found this year in the number of Arabs – 43 percent – who favor their Israeli-Arab identity over a Palestinian one.
Hey, mainstream media: discuss.
