Quebec Columnists Gagnon and Facal Get it Right on Shalit Exchange

by Mike Fegelman

Countering the general trend of moral equivalence in the Quebec media last week was this piece by La Presse columnist Lysiane Gagnon in Saturday’s edition of La Presse. Gagnon clearly conveys the moral difference between the exchange of 477 terrorists and an innocent hostage. Along with Joseph Facal of Le Journal de Montreal, Gagnon refuses to indulge in moral equivalence which sees both Shalit and the terrorists as simply prisoners. Gagnon and Facal are able and willing to tell the difference between terrorists and civilians and the innocent and guilty. Kudos to Lysiane Gagnon and Joseph Facal.

Bravo ? Lysiane Gagnon et Joseph Facal.
