Two recent PostMedia reports appearing in the Vancouver Sun and The Montreal Gazette wrongly claimed that the 2010 Mavi Marmara was carrying humanitarian aid. The Mavi Marmara was instead carrying violent activists who violently set upon Israeli soldiers peacefully boarding the vessel. The Marmara was part of a flotilla of vessels attempting to break Israel’s legal blockade of Gaza.
