Calgary-based podcaster Erica Ifill, who has accused Jews collectively of racism against Black Canadians and other communities, continues to be given a platform in The Hill Times newspaper, where she unabashedly spreads conspiracy theories and stream-of-consciousness rants.

Just days after claiming that Canadian Jews “don’t give a f*** about eradicating antiblackness from your own communities,” journalist Jesse Brown accused The Hill Times’ editor Kate Malloy of being “very aware of Erica Ifill’s bigotry,” yet choosing to publish her rants anyway.

In Ifill’s latest column, published March 18, “Everyone is paying the cost for Trump’s ego,” Ifill – with no ostensible subject matter expertise – opined on the war with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Rather than offering insightful commentary, Ifill instead borrowed from classical antisemitic imagery in claiming without evidence that “this war began as the brainchild of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” who was able to manipulate U.S. President Donald Trump into doing his bidding.

Predictably, Ifill offered zero evidence for her remarkable accusation that Israel, a country barely larger than Lake Ontario with only 10 million people, could somehow manipulate the world’s most powerful country. Instead, she employed vicious and demonizing language to refer to the Jewish State, referring to what she called “Israel’s bloodthirsty hegemonic expansion.”

It is unclear what evidence Ifill has for her hysterical claim alleging Israel’s “bloodthirsty hegemonic expansion.” In the 2.5 years since Israel was attacked by thousands of Gaza terrorists, accompanied by thousands of so-called “civilians” from Gaza, Jerusalem not only has not changed its borders, but more importantly, all of the violence could have been avoided if Islamic terrorist groups did not attack Israel in the first place, a point she takes pains to avoid mentioning.

Amidst her unhinged anti-Israel ramblings accusing Israel of pulling the strings, Ifill did not see fit to actually mention some of the reasons why the United States has carried out strikes against the Islamic regime in Tehran, including its nuclear program, ballistic missile program, support for terrorist proxies like Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis.

Ifill also saw fit to ignore the Islamic Republic’s mass murder of its own people, including in January, where it mowed down tens of thousands of protesters, who were guilty of the crime of speaking out against the despotic regime.

This is not the first time that Erica Ifill has taken to the pages of The Hill Times to print utter nonsense. She has previously endorsed the hateful rejection of Israel’s right to exist, she has weaponized Holocaust Remembrance Day in order to lecture readers about “anti-Palestinian racism,” and has blamed Israel for Gaza’s invasion and massacres on October 7, 2023.

Despite exhibiting little subject matter knowledge, let alone expertise in the Middle East topics she so regularly comments on, The Hill Times has continued to publish podcaster Erica Ifill’s semi-coherent ramblings on a regular basis. That decision would be baffling enough, but given her repeated anti-Jewish social media posts, editor Kate Malloy’s decision to continue to platform and normalize Ifill’s rants is increasingly indefensible.
