One of Canada’s largest self-described “humanitarian” organizations, Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Canada, which raised more than $117 million in 2024, has made a name for itself over the last two years for its hardline, anti-Israel advocacy, despite being a registered charity.
Its senior staff have been regular guests on Canadian news media outlets, where they have, from our vantage point, spread disinformation targeting the Jewish State, including that Israel is blocking food in Gaza, a ridiculous falsehood. Its current executive director is Sana Beg, who previously worked at Al Jazeera, the propaganda outlet owned in large part by the regime of Qatar.
The group’s radical anti-Israel agenda continues unabated, with two full-page colour advertisements recently placed in the Saturday editions of The Toronto Star & The Globe and Mail on September 27.

The advertisements spread the vicious and false allegation of “genocide,” with the pieces blaring that “Israel is committing genocide against Palestinians in Gaza.”
Despite what MSF Canada claimed, there is no genocide in Gaza, and in fact, Jerusalem has taken more steps to avoid civilian casualties in Gaza than any other military in modern history, but given efforts by Palestinian terrorist groups like Hamas to actively embed themselves within civilian infrastructure, ensuring zero civilian casualties is virtually impossible.
Facts matter. No court has found Israel guilty of genocide, a matter which the International Court of Justice has not even ruled on and all casualty figures from Gaza are mere claims from Hamas-run sources, which do not distinguish between civilians and combatants and which have not been independently verified.
Accusing Israel of “genocide,” as MSF has done, is not simply ignorant, but arguably dangerous, as it characterizes not just Israel, but arguably its supporters around the world, as having murderous tendencies, and which has been used to target Jewish communities globally.
Repugnantly, at no point did the MSF ever mention Hamas, the genocidal Islamic terrorist group that itself committed genocide on October 7 and which started and perpetuates the war and which continues to hold dozens of Israeli hostages inside Gaza. This omission is akin to a newspaper advertisement condemning the Allies for bombing Germany, all while failing to mention the Nazis once, as if their presence was somehow irrelevant.
At one point, the advertisement claimed that “the Israeli authorities have systematically targeted Gaza’s healthcare system – bombing hospitals, raiding medical facilities and endangering the lives of staff and patients.”
What MSF Canada somehow ignored is that Hamas, the terrorist group that was effectively sanitized in the advertisement, has widely used Gaza’s civilian spaces, including hospitals, as a base for their fighters, deliberately doing so in order to force Israel into an impossible situation aimed at ensuring maximum death and destruction inside the territory. Despite this and how Hamas’s situating its fighters and weapons inside hospitals leads these healthcare facilities to lose their protected status and make them lawful targets according to international humanitarian law, Israel gives advance notice of pending attacks and allows medical evacuations before military operations.
In fact, Hamas’ leaders have loudly boasted about the need to have as many Gazans die as necessary in order for Israel to be demonized on the international stage, a trap that it seems MSF Canada has fallen for, hook line and sinker.
The advertisement referred to “the limited food assistance available” in Gaza with unfounded allegations of “famine”, apparently unaware that Israel facilitates hundreds of food trucks and humanitarian aid to enter the territory every single day, enough to supply sustenance for the population there, though once again ignoring that Palestinian terrorists have been responsible for widespread thefts of aid.
Beyond the asinine accusations leveled at Israel by MSF Canada, the charity ignores the elephant in the room: that “Hamas has in its power to end this conflict within hours,” as German Chancellor Freidrich Merz stated recently.
Why this obvious reality continues to escape the notice of an enormous organization claiming to do humanitarian work is anyone’s guess, but it is no excuse for continuing to demonize Israel while whitewashing a genocidal terrorist group that is responsible for the entire war.
For its part, the Globe and Mail and the Toronto Star are deserving of condemnation for giving a platform and for allowing MSF Canada to spread dangerous anti-Israel disinformation. This is the 2nd time in recent weeks that the Star gave a platform to a full-page advertisement accusing Israel of genocide. That these newspapers are deriving revenue by publishing ads which parrot Hamas propaganda is beyond the pale.
