CBC News Report Continues To Smear Israel’s Humanitarian Aid Deliveries Into Gaza

A June 27 broadcast for CBC News entitled: “Aid distribution in Gaza goes ‘against every humanitarian principle,’ UNICEF specialist says” featured host Natasha Fatah interviewing UNICEF’s Rosalia Bollen on the humanitarian situation in Gaza.

Watch the full segment below:

Bollen painted an apocalyptic picture of Gaza “really hitting rock bottom”, stating that “there’s these reports of over 50,000 children injured and killed” and also that “for the past 20 months really only a trickle of aid and supplies has entered Gaza on the exception of February, 2025 of the ceasefire.”

This incredible statement of 50,000 children killed is parroted repeatedly by UNICEF, usually without a source. It is likely taken from Hamas’ Gaza Health Authority’s claims, of which there is no verification. In fact, scholars have noted widespread data manipulation from Hamas, including counting adults as children and including thousands of natural deaths as war casualties.

More to the point, the responsible party for suffering in Gaza is none other than Hamas, not only because it started the war, but because it hides its weaponry and tunnels in children’s bedrooms and schools, using them as human shields.

As for the supposed “trickle of aid,” COGAT, the agency responsible for sending aid into Gaza, records that 1,825,153 tonnes of aid have entered the territory since the start of the war. This has been found to exceed the daily caloric intake required per person.

All of this information is readily available, yet Natasha Fatah didn’t mention it.

Fatah also devoted airtime to the allegation that Israel is shooting civilians at aid distribution points, with the CBC’s anchor stating that “several people were also reportedly killed while waiting for aid in central Gaza.” She continued to state that the “US and Israeli backed organization called the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, they’re distributing aid and consistently we’re seeing reports including most recently from Save the Children, another aid organization that people are being shot at at these facilities or the distribution points.” Bollen repeated this claim, saying, “nobody should have to risk their lives to get a little bit of food and yet that is what is happening day in day out.”

Israel has vocally denied all allegations, saying that “Blaming Israel for the UN’s failures and for Hamas’s deeds is a deliberate tactic. The GHF has so far provided more than 46 million meals directly to Palestinian civilians, not to Hamas. Yet the UN is doing everything it can to oppose this effort. In doing so, the UN is aligning itself with Hamas, which is also trying to sabotage the GHF’s humanitarian operations. The IDF never targets civilians, and anyone claiming otherwise is blatantly lying.”

But this is not just a matter of ‘he said, she said.’ There is simply virtually no evidence of these mass shootings, and these claims emanate from a tiny handful of unreliable people inside Gaza.

Retired British army colonel Richard Kemp recently visited a GHF distribution site and reported that “Almost everyone I saw was very happy to be getting free aid for the first time as opposed to aid stolen by Hamas terrorists & sold on at premium prices which many can’t afford.” Those stories never get told.

Hamas has indeed tried to prevent Gazans from accessing GHF distribution points, denouncing them as an “agent of the occupation”, warning Palestinian civilians who accept its assistance that they “will pay the price, and we will take the necessary measures.” Indeed, Hamas has been filmed shooting at civilians on their way to collect aid. Moore mentioned that when Hamas killed 12 Gazan humanitarian aid workers, the UN didn’t even condemn their murders.

In this video report, the CBC has not told the full story, but a carefully constructed anti-Israel narrative instead.
