According to today’s Winnipeg Free Press, the newspaper’s Middle East correspondent has written a novel about the famous Israeli spy Eli Cohen which is headed for Hollywood:

“The film rights to Segev’s Alone in Damascus were bought recently by Los Angeles’s L+E Pictures. L+E is co-owned by Eric Eisner, son of former Disney chief Michael Eisner. The novel is about the Israeli spy Eli Cohen, executed in Damascus in 1965. It was originally published in 1986.”
According to the brief, we can look forward to the movie “Alone in Damascus” in 2011.
