Effective yesterday, Patrick Martin (former Globe & Mail comment pages editor) takes over for Mark Mackinnon as Mideast Bureau Chief.
This isn't a new position for Martin, who in the past manned the Globe's bureau in Jerusalem. As for Mark and his wife Carolynne Wheeler, both are off to the Far East to report from China.
