by Mike Fegelman

A photo taken in Beirut as Lebanese-Canadians were evacuated from Lebanon this summer helped  Toronto Star photographer Steve Russell take first place in a "Photographer of the Year" contest:

Caption: "This photo of a young Windsor boy waiting to be processed and allowed on one of six Canadian boats out of Beirut during the Lebanon-Israel conflict last summer was one of many over 2006 that cumulatively earned Star photographer Steve Russell his first-place finish in the National Press Photographers Association Photographer of the Year contest."
