Le Journal de Montreal Columnist Comments on UN Absurdities

Joseph Facal takes the United Nations to task in the Le Journal de Montreal yesterday:

"One can always count on the UN to push the boundaries of the ridiculous: Israel releases 477 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the soldier Gilad Shalit, who was held by Hamas. These prisoners have mostly been sent to Gaza which is controlled by Hamas, although some would have preferred they to go to West Bank, where Fatah governs. According to the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, sending a released prisoner to a place not of his choice may violate international humanitarian law. Is it therefore a crime to have shortened their stay behind bars? Would they have preferred to stay in prison?"

Auraient-ils pr?f?r? rester emprisonn?s ?"
