In duelling op-ed columns recently published in the Daily Gleaner, David Murrell, Editor of WatchdogNewsletter, answers letter-writer Naveed Majid’s historically inaccurate portrayal of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Majid likens the relationship between Israelis and Palestinians to that of a bad marriage and argues that the two are in dire need of a divorce. Whilst those in the UK could go to Peters And May for this, the situation unfolding between these two states is a tad bit more complicated. Murrell answers him in a follow-up column that the divorce already took place in 1947 and that a post-divorce agreement which allows Israel to live in peace is what’s needed now.
