Israeli-Invented Earthquake Proof Desks. Should This Be Boycotted Too?

August 1, 2013

Along with other life saving technology, two Israeli designers have invented earthquake proof desks that can protect children during an earthquake instead of collapsing under the weight of heavy debris, as the Toronto Star reports. In earthquake-prone areas, when disaster hits, children tend to crawl under their tables but that is really a “death trap,” says Arthur Brutter, who worked with instructor Ido Bruno of Israel’s Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. He said their earthquake-proof table can withstand a 1,000-kilogram impact and actually provide protection when catastrophe hits.

Presumably, anti-Israel activists supporting an Israeli boycott will add this life saving technology to their list of forbidden products, along with other life-saving medicines and lifesaving technologies invented by Israel.
