Muslim tycoons should buy stakes in global media outlets to help change attitudes around the world, officials from Muslim countries were told today. According to Reuters, the comments were made at a meeting of information ministers from the world’s largest Islamic organization, the 57-nation Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC).
According to OIC chief Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu:
"Muslim investors must invest in the large media institutions of the world, which generally make considerable profits, so that they have the ability to affect their policies via their administrative boards."
