In a recent Globe and Mail op-ed, former Palestinian foreign minister Nabeel Shaath tried to persuade readers that Canada once played a constructive role in its handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but that today Canada has shifted away from the “historic path” to play an obstructive role. A counter-op-ed by Israeli Knesset member Einat Wilf and Noah Slepkov, Adjunct Fellow at the Jewish People Policy Institute in Jerusalem, explains that the truth is, in fact, the opposite as Baird’s trip was “… no provocation, it was brave”.
