HRC Prompts Toronto Star To Amend Headline Which Implicitly Cast Doubt About Palestinian Terror Attack

On December 22, we alerted you to how the Toronto Star myopically featured the word “alleged” to preface the word “gunman” in reference to a Palestinian terrorist who fired at Israeli police in Jerusalem.

Despite the fact that video evidence confirmed the terrorist’s shooting attack, the Star’s headline implied that the veracity of the matter has not been substantiated.

HonestReporting Canada communicated our concerns to the Toronto Star and we are pleased to note that the Star upheld our complaint and amended the headline to remove the word “alleged” in its reference to the Palestinian gunman.
