For years, HonestReporting Canada has documented a persistent pattern of one-sided, inaccurate and unfair coverage of Israel at the taxpayer-funded CBC. We’ve raised concerns directly with CBC journalists, challenged biased reporting, and pressed our public broadcaster to do better. But when the same problems continue, sometimes you must take the message directly to the people responsible.
That’s why this week, we rented an advertising video truck and parked it directly in front of CBC headquarters. The message was simple: Canadians deserve better than relentless anti-Israel bias from their public broadcaster.

This isn’t about asking CBC to be “pro-Israel.” It’s about asking for journalism that applies the same standards of fairness, balance & context to Israel that Canadians should expect when any other country is covered.

CBC is Canada’s public broadcaster, and with that role comes a special responsibility to serve all Canadians fairly. When coverage repeatedly omits important context, amplifies unverified allegations or presents Israel through a consistently negative lens, Canadians have every right to speak up. And this problem is especially acute in the CBC’s refusal to call Hamas a terrorist organization and to call terror by its rightful name.

HonestReporting Canada will not sit quietly while this continues, and we will keep challenging problematic and myopic coverage, holding CBC and other media outlets accountable, and making sure our concerns are impossible to ignore.
