Globe & Mail Issues Correction on Lebanon War

by Mike Fegelman

Yesterday’s Globe saw a feature report by Beppi Crosariol on the fate of Lebanon’s wine region after the summer war with Israel.

Crosariol erroneously claimed that: "Israel, prompted by the capture of two soldiers by Hezbollah guerrillas inside Lebanon, retaliated with showers of missiles and bombs, rocking much of the tiny country…"

Contrary to this statement and as corrected by the Globe in today’s edition: "Before last summer’s Israeli-Lebanese conflict, Hezbollah guerrillas abducted two Israeli soldiers from inside Israel. Incorrect information was published in Globe Life yesterday."
