Globe and Mail Revises Commentary Following HRC Complaint

by Mike Fegelman

A Taylor Owen commentary on the use of drones in today’s Globe and Mail website erroneously stated: “Imagine that you are living somewhere in Pakistan, Yemen, or Gaza where the United States suspects a terrorist presence. Day and night, you hear a constant buzzing in the sky.”

This sentence suggests that the U.S. operates drones over Gaza. Yet, only Israel operates drones over Gazan airspace. Following HRC’s intervention, the Globe revised this sentence which now reads: “Imagine that you are living somewhere in Pakistan, Yemen, or Gaza where the United States and its allies suspects a terrorist presence.”
