In Thursday’s edition of the Globe and Mail, columnist Shira Herzog falsly claimed:

"although the Agranat commission’s mandate was limited to the military’s performance (its report led to the (Israeli) chief of staff’s resignation and eventual suicide)"

Today the Globe issued this correction to set the record straight:

"David (Dado) Elazar, the chief of general staff of the Israeli Defence Forces during the 1973 Yom Kippur War, died while swimming in 1976. He was incorrectly said to have committed suicide in yesterday’s newspaper."
