Yesterday the Globe and Mail reported in a staff editorial that: ?Iran is displeased over the death of senior Hezbollah terrorist Imad Mughniyeh, who was murdered by some community-minded individuals in a car bombing in Beirut on Tuesday."
Contrary to this statement, the bombing took place on the streets of Damascus, Syria. The Globe to its credit issued the following correction to set the record straight:
"Imad Mughniyeh, a senior Hezbollah commander, was killed in a car-bomb explosion in Damascus. An incorrect location was named in an editorial in yesterday’s newspaper."
