Sitting in for Kevin Newman on last night’s Global National news broadcast, Leslie Roberts made an unfortunate slip of the tongue that implied the Canadian Jewish Congress, which denounced an anti-Israel boycott, actually supported it:
"Tonight the United Church of Canada’s Toronto wing is calling for a boycott of Israeli products in the wake of the Gaza invasion. The Canadian Jewish congress is commending the move."

Later in the same broadcast, Roberts made an on-air correction:
"Well, to a quick correction to a story from earlier in the broadcast regarding the Toronto wing of the United Church of Canada’s decision to boycott Israeli products. We meant to say the Canadian Jewish Congress is condemning the move. We regret the confusion."
