Yesterday we presented exclusive images showing how CBC News Morning gratuitously inserted the Israeli flag in a graphic about Palestinian factional fighting in Gaza – a story in which Israel was not even mentioned. (One person, writing in our comments section, called this "subliminal messaging.")
Today the CBC News graphics team still seems confused. Following a report by CBC’s Peter Armstrong that referenced both a suicide bombing against Israel and internal Palestinian factional fighting, the CBC anchor was surrounded by conflicting messages at the top and bottom of the screen.
Below her, the words "Hamas-Fatah Fighting" appeared. But to her right there was a jumbled graphic that appeared to include an Israeli soldier, an Israeli tank, the Israeli flag and the Palestinian flag.
