In a July 18 letter to the Editor published in the Toronto Star entitled “All nations get criticized”, letter-writer Yasser Ebrahim of Waterloo whines about pro-Israel writers who he feels stifle public debate about Israel by “flashing the anti-Semitism card in the face of any legitimate criticism of Israel”. HonestReporting Canada letter-writer Vicky Tobianah answers him in a July 20 letter to the Editor by countering that criticism of Israeli policies is perfectly legitimate, but that applying an unfair double standard to Israel crosses the line.
