Complaint Filed: Host Of Radio Program ‘One Dish, One Mic,’ On St. Catharines Station, Launches Ignorant 10-Minute Long Anti-Israel Rant

August 6, 2025

The famous adage that “it is better to remain silent at the risk of being thought a fool, than to talk and remove all doubt of it,” is a warning only to speak on a subject that one can comment intelligently about, but one radio host appears to have accepted it as a challenge.

One Dish, One Mic is an indigenous-focused radio talk show hosted by Karl Dockstader and Sean Vanderklis playing on CKTB AM, a radio station based in St. Catharines, Ontario, owned by Whiteoaks Communications Group.

In a July 26 segment, Dockstader demonstrated a striking ignorance about the Hamas-Israel war, though this did not stop him from launching into a 10-minute anti-Israel tirade.

After confidently proclaiming that “Gaza is being starved,” Dockstader then made comments that exposed his widespread lack of knowledge, including calling for Israel to “let the aid trucks in. The aid trucks are ready to go…they are ready to put aid in immediately.”

What appeared to be entirely unknown to Dockstader is that huge amounts of aid are entering Gaza daily, including millions of meals every single day by the Israel and American-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), created to help bypass Hamas’ theft of aid.

Aid trucks are not being stopped at Gaza; this is blatant disinformation; it is the supposedly humanitarian groups that are refusing to work with the GHF that are boycotting aid deliveries, leading to scenes where enormous piles of aid are sitting (and expiring), waiting to be picked up.

Whether it is unclear whether Dockstader simply had no idea what he was talking about, or was deliberately misleading listeners, the end result is that thanks to his rant, his listeners are more ignorant.

Not once did Dockstader dare to mention Hamas, the Palestinian terrorist group that has engineered the current war, nor the dozens of hostages kidnapped nearly 22 months ago by Palestinian terrorists and who are being kept inside Gaza. But this did not stop him from calling for an “immediate and unconditional ceasefire,” which presumably means that Israel would leave the hostages in Gaza indefinitely, and allow Hamas to remain in control of Gaza, ready for another October 7-style massacre at a time and place of its choosing.

At one point in his rambling address, Dockstader stated that “if the United States turned off the taps tomorrow, this would end tomorrow,” suggesting that American military support to Israel was instrumental in perpetuating the war. This is both false and absurd. Palestinian terrorists started the war and continue it daily by holding hostages and refusing to lower their arms. The war can also end tomorrow if Hamas frees the hostages and ceases its attempts to annihilate Israel.

But given Dockstader’s absurd refusal to mention either the hostages or Hamas, one can only surmise the reasons why he chose to censor out how the war started, and by whom.

The program’s social media presence show that One Dish, One Mic is a viciously anti-Israel platform, filled with accusations of “genocide” and where his profile picture features him wearing the keffiyeh, the checkered Arab cloth that has become a symbol of support for Palestinian terrorism. The following day, the program featured an interview with the radical anti-Israel group Amnesty International.

Elsewhere in his extended lament, Dockstader said that “there’s no reasonable explanation to me” for the war or the world’s indifference, in his mind. He need not be confused or puzzled, and would do well to educate himself rather than turning his program into a platform for spreading discredited anti-Israel propaganda. Accordingly, HonestReporting Canada has filed a complaint with the broadcaster seeking corrective action be undertaken.
