CBC's Hezbollah Double Standard

by Mike Fegelman

2 terrorist organizations whose origins stem from 2 different countries (Lebanon & China) and who share the same name: "Hezbollah" received a curious double standard from the CBC.

In the case of Huseyin Celil, accused of ‘participating with a terrorist group" by Chinese authorities, CBC Online described the Chinese Hezbollah as a "terrorist" group and organization.  The t-word and its variants are used 4 times throughout the report.

Contrast this to CBC Online’s coverage of the Winograd report. The Lebanese Hezbollah are described as a "militant group" and "guerillas".

We wonder, why is the CBC’s t-word policy not applied uniformly?
