CBC Editor-In-Chief Tony Burman Resigns

Tonyburmanx After 35 years, Tony Burman, the CBC’s editor-in-chief for English-language news, current affairs and Newsworld divisions tendered his resignation.

News coverage in the Toronto Star suggested that Burman was on the way out: "Speculation of a management shake-up at the CBC first gained legs earlier this month when it was revealed that Canada’s national broadcaster had hired an American media consultancy firm, Frank N. Magid Associates, to overhaul its local news coverage"

Coverage in the Globe and Mail noted that: ?Burman was thinking about leaving for almost a year? to work on documentaries or another news organization abroad."
