CBC Corrects: Israel Did Not Approve "1,500 New Settlements"

A CBC.ca report by Sasa Petricic on June 7 incorrectly stated that Israel has approved the building of 1,500 new settlements:

“To show its displeasure, Israel has approved 1,500 new settlements in the occupied West Bank, something both the Palestinians and the U.S. say won’t help the peace process.”

This statement was inaccurate as Israel approved 1,500 new homes in an existing settlement (to allow for the natural growth of its citizens). It did not create 1,500 new settlements as per Petricic’s claim.

Following an HRC complaint, CBC corrected with the following statement:
