Benjamin Netanyahu or George Mitchell?

by Mike Fegelman

One week after the National Post misidentified a photo caption showing a member of Neturei Karta and a Palestinian Arab supposedly “facing off” in East Jerusalem, Canada’s national newspaper publishes another erroneous photo caption related to the Middle-East. This time, in a case of mistaken identity, a brief which appeared in the paper yesterday incorrectly depicted US envoy to the Middle-East George Mitchell (pictured right) with a photograph of the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu (pictured below).

Realizing its mistake, the Post dutifully published a prompt correction in today’s paper to remedy this embarrassing blunder: “A brief in World Report yesterday incorrectly depicted U.S. envoy to the Middle East George Mitchell with a photograph of Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel. The Post regrets the error.”
Two incorrect photo captions in two weeks, let’s hope the Post isn’t going three for three 🙂
