Abbas Appoints Released Terrorist As Advisor

by Mike Fegelman

The Jerusalem Post reports that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has today issued a "presidential decree" appointing a prisoner who was released in the Gilad Schalit deal with Hamas as his advisor for local governments.

Mahmoud Awad Damra was sentenced in 2006 to 15 years in prison for his role in terror attacks against Israel. Damra was found guilty of planning and logistical coordination of numerous terror attacks in which many people were killed, among those were US citizens Esh-Kodesh Gilmore and Binyamin and Talia Kahane in 2000.
