An HonestReporting Canada analysis of the CBC podcast Front Burner since October 7, 2023 found a consistent pattern of one-sided coverage, including predominantly anti-Israel guests, minimal challenge to inflammatory claims and repeated omissions of key context.

Consistent over this period have been dozens of episodes, both by host Jayme Poisson and guest hosts, platforming genocide accusations and conspiracy theories and which in our view downplayed Hamas and Iran’s murderous ideology, along with attacks on Jewish organizations and the equation of Israeli self-defence with terrorism. Nearly one-sixth of all episodes have featured discussions of Israel or otherwise addressed it, in what can reasonably be called an obsession, paid for by Canada’s taxpayer.
